Merry Christmas to all!

Snowglobes

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Elves galore!
 Our darling little elves!

A very merry and blessed Christmas to everyone. I'm sorry I haven't written anything for awhile, but I'm sure you know how busy life is at this time of year. I have some pictures to share. The kids wrote a couple of paragraphs about what they thought an elf's life would be like and if they could have any job working for Santa what would it be and why. They then created an elf and glued their paragraphs to the elf.

Be sure to stop in upstairs to see all the great Christmas art work we've been working on when you come to the program Thursday night. The kids would love to show off their creations to you.

Bye Bye October!

Robert LaSalle Park

WOW! What a wonderful October this has been. I certainly have enjoyed the fall colors and warmer than usual weather. My husband and I took a jaunt to Door County a few weeks back and found a beautiful park just north of Algoma off of county road  U. It's called Robert LaSalle Park. I highly reccomend it to you. There is an upper and lower section to the park. The lower section is right on Lake Michigan with picnic tables and a play area for the kids. After lunch we continued north through Sturgeon Bay to Jacksonport for a fish boil dinner. If you have never taken your family to Door County nor eaten a fish boil I urge you to do it next summer/fall. After all this is part of the history of Wisconsin. I am always amazed and saddend when my students tell me they have never seen, let alone stood on the shores of Lake Michigan.  I have included a few pictures here to tempt you....

Welcome October!

Happy first day of October! Today is the Feast day of St. Theresa, the Little Flower of Jesus. Tuesday, the fourth, is the Feast of St. Francis.

We  received letters from our pen pals in Evening Shade, Arkansas, this week. The children have written back to them and they have exchanged pictures as well.

It's a girl!!!!! Our monarch butterfly came out of its chryssalis last week. Apparently if you look at the bottom of the wings there are 2 white spots that appear if the butterfly is a boy. Our butterfly had no spots in that area so it is a girl. In this picture the butterfly is held by Janelle. The butterfly was only 5 minutes old when this pic was taken.

Please check out the Art page to see some of our fall masterpieces! There are pictures from our prayer service as well on the Religion page.

Week of Sept. 18

Wow! We are about to begin our 3rd week of school! Time does fly when you're having fun.

Our class has new pen pals! We emailed them for the first time this past week. We exchanged pictures and noticed that they look somewhat like us! We could find physical similarities between our class and theirs.  They are a class of 14- 4th graders from Evening Shade, Arkansas. The city is located in the north central part of the state. It is nestled in  the Ozarks. It is a rural community of 450 people. Ms Wolfe will be pairing the students up this weekend and we will begin writing letters(the old-fashioned way) to each other soon. Ms. Wolfe and I also have plans to allow the children to Skype once in awhile. How cool will it be to actually give them a tour of our classroom and school!!!!

I hope your children have been enjoying their time in our classroom as I have. As always don't hesitate to stop in our room to check things out, just make sure to check into the office first please. Also please visit the other pages on the blog to see if there has been any new additions.

Welcome Back!

Welcome back everyone! I hope you all had a FANTASTIC summer!

As you can see this is my brand new web page. Please have patience with me as this blogging is new to me. I'm not quite sure of what I'm doing. I am learning as I go. I imagine this is what the kids feel like when I introduce new material!

On this website I intend to post the current and future happenings for our classroom. In time you will be able to find information about tests and projects that are coming up. I will also try to keep you informed about what we are studying in our various subjects. I hope to post some websites of educational games that the students use in school so that they can use them at home as well.

That's all for now. I'm going to get back to designing this blog! Wish me luck!
